What is Asset Distro?
Asset Distro (Asset Distribution) is an independent music distribution company based in Atlanta, GA. We deliver music from independent artists, labels, and rights holders to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, TikTok, Instagram, and other stores and platforms worldwide, and we handle royalties, rights management, and release strategy.
How do I get my music on Spotify, Apple Music, and TikTok?
Streaming services only accept music from distributors. Once you’re accepted to Asset Distro, you upload your audio, artwork, and release details in your dashboard, pick a release date, and we deliver it to every store and platform you select, including Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, and Instagram.
Do I keep ownership of my music?
Yes. You keep ownership of your masters. We distribute and administer your music, but your rights stay yours.
How much does music distribution cost?
Terms depend on whether you’re an artist or a label and the size of your catalog. We cover everything on a call after reviewing your application, with no surprise fees.
Who can apply to Asset Distro?
Independent artists, labels, and managers. We’re selective and review every application personally, because we’d rather go deep with artists we believe in.
How far ahead should I submit a new release?
We recommend submitting three to four weeks before your release date. That gives stores time to process it and leaves room to pitch to editors. Spotify requires editorial pitches at least seven days before release.
Do you help with playlist placement?
Yes. We pitch releases to streaming-service editors and consider our artists for Asset Distro’s own curated playlists on Spotify and Apple Music. No one can guarantee placement, but we work every release.
What is YouTube Content ID and do I need it?
Content ID is YouTube’s system for finding your music in other people’s videos. When your music is registered, you can earn money from those uses or block them. We set this up for eligible releases.
How do I get paid and see my royalties?
Signed-in artists can open their royalty statements from their Asset Distro account page. Statements break down earnings by store, territory, and release, and collaborator splits can be paid automatically.
Can I switch to Asset Distro from another distributor?
Yes. In most cases you can move your catalog without losing stream counts or playlist positions, as long as releases are re-delivered with the same ISRC and UPC codes and matching metadata. We handle the move with you.
Do you work with independent record labels?
Yes. Labels get catalog management, multi-artist dashboards, royalty accounting with splits, rights management, and a direct line to our team.
